REVIEW
During the mid
80's Screams For Tina made their appearance on the Californian goth scene
with "Strobelight Funeral" - an EP that would become a deathrock
classic. Although with the obvious Christian Death and Joy Division influences,
they managed to acquire a musical identity and offered hits such as "11:11",
"Simple Addictions" or "In Her House". In 1993 they released
the self titled album, shortly followed by the bands split. Noone knew anything
about them until... surprise (!) 2003 when they released a new EP, simply
entitled "2003 AD". It is a true comeback, considering the Screams
For Tina sound is unchanged, as simple and clean, direct and rocking. The
only problem I have is with the drummachine, different from the old times
with real drums(!). Three out of the four songs on the EP are new, and the
fourth is a remix for "Eleven Eleven". The hit is, with no doubt
"Standing In The Rain", that you will surely get to listen at our
St. Vitus Dance parties, not just during the deathrock special evenings (and
that goes for all the old hits). I am delighted with the rebirth of Screams
For Tina and I hope their activity will last now more than the first time
and with more quality offerings!
