Well, you've most probably heard of it already, so here we go: we proudly announce the 2nd release of our ESSENTIALS SERIES!

KALIFFORNIAN DEATHROCK brings to you a breathtaking selection of essential songs of the early years of Deathrock California; but not only music: a 24-pages booklet full of great pics, many from private collections, supercool flyers of the time, original statements of bands, DJ's, promoters etc. on the Deathrock scene then and now, and, last but not least, a 12-page in-depth DEATHROCK HISTORY written by the great THOMAS THYSSEN!

The record will most probably be released on Oktober 27... everybody preferring a free copy delivered by post should check out our COMPETITION.

Strobelight co-founder JAKOB has decided to leave Strobelight Records & Mailorder in order to pursue other interests. After almost four years of work on numerous albums and influential compilations that got Strobelight Records to where it now stands his departure marks quite an incision.

We proudly present the first volume of our new series ESSENTIALS. With this series we aim at making available lost, or hard to get, but at any rate MORE TO BE LISTENED TO interesting music to a new and hungry audience, starting with legendary UK-Postpunk-Goffic Rockers EVERY NEW DEAD GHOST who between 1986 and 1992 toured the UK and Continental Europe almost constantly and released a bunch of classic records in the course, before disbanding in late 1992.

KILLING JOKE, PLAY DEAD, SOUTHERN DEATH CULT and SEX GANG CHILDREN marked the field that these young Nottingham quartet self-consciously worked in, and their driving dancefloor favourites such as "Miranda", "Assassin" or "Obvious", or their less straight smashers such as "She's Waiting", "Relics" or "Sweat" are still amongst the very best a decent club can offer today.

In June FRANK THE BAPTIST will be featured in German ZILLO Magazine's "Talent-Support" - section, which is a collaboration of the mag and all German WOM-record shops, which will feature the album "Different Degrees Of Empty" in their listening-booths for the duration of the entire month.

We've already received a big amount of feedback on both FRANK THE BAPTIST and MURDER AT THE REGISTRY, several reviews and articles in online- und print-magazines, as well as some enthusiastic comments from DJs of our DJ-pool... we'll keep on collecting such material for another while, and will put online a selection of it all by mid-June or so...

MURDER AT THE REGISTRY perfomed a storming co-headliner-show at this year's JUDGEMENT DAY Festival, celebrating the release of the album CD as well as presenting some blasting new tracks, which were welcomed enthusiasticly by the international audience... we can all expect the very best of the next album...

Welcome to the sites of STROBELIGHT, the label and mailorder for Goff and Deathrock and stuff. Our first glorious signings are some of the finest acts of the international black clad music scene: FRANK THE BAPTIST (San Diego, USA) and MURDER AT THE REGISTRY (Germany); both bands never released a proper album before, and the demand of their worldwide following will be supplied at last... for both acts to take over the world.

The intention of our SHOP was it to make available the sounds that we personally love, music which always had a hard time to get hold of, and which cannot be easily (or at all) obtained nowadays... bear in mind, this is a personal subjective collection of what we think should be treated as valuable, if not classic, goth et al. stuff. You will hardly find any utter crap music within these sites... but rather some impressive evidence of the true and original and boneshaking greatness of music we just cannot live without. Check it out regularely, as our stock is being expanded constantly.
